Thepain,onthatlastawfulcontraction,wasimpossibletobelieveashefelthimselfbeingsqueezed,crushedandpushedthroughthatunyieldingrockgap,hisbonesshattering,hisfleshbecomingsomethingshapelessandsnakelike,andashismouthandruinedheadclearedtheholehebegantoscream,infearandpain.
Hewondered,ashescreamed,whether,backinthewakingworld,hewasalsoscreaming—ifhewerescreaminginhissleepbackonthedarkenedbus.
