Wehaveneverseenhim,thoughwethinkheisabout,foroneofthesailors,whowasgoingtoshootMr.Claytonintheback,receivedaspearinhisshoulderfromsomeunseenhandinthejungle.
Thesailorsleftusbutameagersupplyoffood,so,aswehaveonlyasinglerevolverwithbutthreecartridgesleftinit,wedonotknowhowwecanprocuremeat,thoughMr.Philandersaysthatwecanexistindefinitelyonthewildfruitandnutswhichaboundinthejungle.
Iamverytirednow,soIshallgotomyfunnybedofgrasseswhichMr.Claytongatheredforme,butwilladdtothisfromdaytodayasthingshappen.
