           Harryshuthiseyestightagain.Heknewthattheywereapproachingthecastleandstrainedhisearstodistinguish,abovethegleefulvoicesoftheDeathEatersandtheirtrampingfootsteps,signsoflifefromthosewithin.

           TheDeathEaterscametoahalt;Harryheardthemspreadingoutinalinefacingtheopenfrontdoorsoftheschool.Hecouldsee,eventhoughhisclosedlids,theteddishglowthatmeantlightstreameduponhimfromtheentrancehall.Hewaited.Anymoment,thepeopleforwhomhehadtriedtodiewouldseehim,lyingapparentlydead,inHagrid’sarms.

           ThescreamwasthemoreterriblebecausehehadneverexpectedordreamedthatProfessorMcGonagallcouldmakesuchasound.Heheardanotherwomenlaughingnearby,andknewthatBellatrixgloriedinMcGonagall’sdespair.
