           "Howdowegetout?"yelledRonoverallthescreaming,butbeforeeitherHarryorHermionecouldanswertheywerebowledaside;Hagridhadcomethunderingdownthestairs,brandishinghisflowerypinkumbrella.

           "Don’thurt’em,don’thurt’em!"heyelled.

           "HAGRID,NO!"

           Harryforgoteverythingelse:hesprintedoutfromunderthecloak,runningbentdoubletoavoidthecursesilluminatingthewholehall.

           "HAGRID,COMEBACK!"

           ButhewasnotevenhalfwaytoHagridwhenhesawithappen:Hagridvanishedamongstthespiders,andwithagreatscurrying,afoulswarmingmovement,theyretreatedundertheonslaughtofspells,Hagridburiedintheirmidst.

           "HAGRID!"

           Harryheardsomeonecallinghisownname,whetherfriendorfoehedidnotcare:Hewasspringintdownthefrontstepsintothedarkgrounds,andthespiderswereswarmingawaywiththeirprey,andhecouldseenothingofHagridatall.

           "HAGRID!"

           Hethoughthecouldmakeoutanenormousarmwavingfromthemidstofthespiderswarm,butashemadetochaseafterthem,hiswaywasimpededbyamonumentalfoot,whichswungdownoutofthedarknessandmadethegroundonwhichhestoodshudder.
