           AnotheryapfromAndrew.

           "Heinsists,ma’am,thatthatwon’tdo.Hisfriendmusthaveasilkcushionjustlikehisandsleepinyourroomtoo.Otherwisehewillgoandsleepinthecoal-cellarwithhisfriend,"saidMaryPoppins.

           "Andrew,howcouldyou?"moanedMissLark."Ishallneverconsenttosuchathing."

           Andrewlookedasthoughhewerepreparingtodepart.Sodidtheotherdog.

           "Oh,he’sleavingme!"shriekedMissLark."Verywell,then,Andrew.Itwillbeasyouwish.Heshallsleepinmyroom.ButIshallneverbethesameagain,never,never.Suchacommondog!"

           Shewipedherstreamingeyesandwenton:

           "Ishouldneverhavethoughtitofyou,Andrew.ButI’llsaynomore,nomatterwhatIthink.AndthisercreatureIshallcallWaiforStrayor—"

           AtthattheotherdoglookedatMissLarkveryindignantly,andAndrewbarkedloudly.

           "Willoughby!Whataname!Worseandworse!"saidMissLarkdespairingly
