Theyjabberedandshruggedtheirshoulders,sayingthatweweremadandshouldperishofthirst,whichImustsayseemedprobable; butbeingdesirousofobtainingtheknives,whichwerealmostunknowntreasuresupthere,theyconsentedtocome,havingprobablyreflectedthat,afterall,oursubsequentextinctionwouldbenoaffairoftheirs.
Allnextdaywerestedandslept,andatsunsetateaheartymealoffreshbeefwasheddownwithtea,thelast,asGoodremarkedsadly,wewerelikelytodrinkformanyalongday. Then,havingmadeourfinalpreparations,welaydownandwaitedforthemoontorise.
