           Howlcameoutofthebathroomjusttheninawaftofsteamyperfume.Helookedmarvelouslyspruce.Eventhesilverinletsandembroideryonhissuitseemedtohavebecomebrighter.Hetookonelookandbackedintothebathroomagainwithablue-and-silversleeveprotectinghishead.

           “Stopit,woman!”hesaid.“Leavethosepoorspidersalone!”

           “Thesecobwebsareadisgrace!”Sophiedeclared,fetchingthemdowninbundles.

           “Thengetthemdownandleavethespiders,”saidHowl.

           Probablyhehadawickedaffinitywithspiders,Sophiethought.“They’llonlymakemorewebs,”shesaid.
