“Itleavesoverthreehundreddollars,”Bethsaid.
Therewasasilenceforawhile.Bethlookedatthesheetofpaper,althoughsheunderstooditperfectlywell.ShewaswonderingifsheshouldoffertosplitthemoneywithMrs.Wheatley.Shedidnotwanttodothat.Shehadwonitherself.

Mrs.Wheatleywipedherchinwithhernapkinwhenshefinishedthewineandlitafinalcigarette.
