TheGlassCathadbeengreatlyinterestedintheGrayApe’sstoryandwascurioustoseewhatthegiantsoldierslookedlike.Hearingthattheirheadsextendedabovethetree-tops,theGlassCatdecidedthatifitclimbedthetallavocadotreethatstoodatthesideoftheclearing,itmightbeabletoseethegiants’heads.So,withoutmentioninghererrand,thecrystalcreaturewenttothetreeand,bystickinghersharpglassclawsinthebark,easilyclimbedthetreetoitsverytopand,lookingovertheforest,sawthesixgiantheads,althoughtheywerenowalongwayoff.Itwas,indeed,aremarkablesight,forthehugeheadshadimmensesoldiercapsonthem,withredandyellowplumesandlookedveryfierceandterrible,althoughthemonkeyheartsofthegiantswereatthatmomentfilledwithfear.
Havingsatisfiedhercuriosity,theGlassCatbegantoclimbdownfromthetreemoreslowly.SuddenlyshediscernedtheWizard’sblackbaghangingfromalimbofthetree.Shegraspedtheblackbaginherglassteeth,andalthoughitwasratherheavyforsosmallananimal,managedtogetitfreeandtocarryitsafelydowntotheground.
