KikiAru,intheformoftheLi-Mon-Eag,hadscrambledintothehigh,thickbranchesofthetree,sonoonecouldseehim,andthereheopenedtheWizard’sblackbag,whichhehadcarriedawayinhisflight.HewascurioustoseewhattheWizard’smagictoolslookedlike,andhopedhecouldusesomeofthemandsosecuremorepower;butafterhehadtakenthearticles,onebyone,fromthebag,hehadtoadmittheywerepuzzlestohim.For,unlessheunderstoodtheiruses,theywereofnovaluewhatever.KikiAru,theHyupboy,wasnowizardormagicianatall,andcoulddonothingunusualexcepttousetheMagicWordhehadstolenfromhisfatheronMountMunch.SohehungtheWizard’sblackbagonabranchofthetreeandthenclimbeddowntothelowerlimbsthathemightseewhatthevictimsofhistransformationsweredoing.
Theywereallontopoftheflatrock,talkingtogetherintonessolowthatKikicouldnothearwhattheysaid.
