Iretiredtothecabinextremelytired,andhavingcookedasupperofbaconandcorncake,andconversedawhilewithEliza,whooccupiedthesamecabin,asalsodidLawsonandhiswifeMary,andaslavenamedBristol,laiddownuponthegroundfloor,littledreamingofthesufferingsthatawaitedmeonthemorrow. BeforedaylightIwasonthepiazzaofthe"greathouse,"awaitingtheappearanceofoverseerChapin. Tohavearousedhimfromhisslumbersandstatedmyerrand,wouldhavebeenanunpardonableboldness.
