NewstudentsatHogwartsweresortedintoHousesbytryingontheSortingHat,whichshoutedouttheHousetheywerebestsuitedto(Gryffindor,Ravenclaw,Hufflepuff,orSlytherin).ProfessorMcGonagallstrodeofftowardheremptyseatatthestafftable,andHarryandHermionesetoffintheotherdirection,asquietlyaspossible,towardtheGryffindortable.Peoplelookedaroundatthemastheypassedalongthebackofthehall,andafewofthempointedatHarry.HadthestoryofhiscollapsinginfrontoftheDementortraveledthatfast?
HeandHermionesatdownoneithersideofRon,whohadsavedthemseats.
