           RonwasenragedthatHermionehadnevertakenCrookshanks’sattemptstoeatScabbersseriously,hadn’tbotheredtokeepacloseenoughwatchonhim,andwasstilltryingtopretendthatCrookshankswasinnocentbysuggestingthatRonlookforScabbersunderalltheboys’beds.Hermione,meanwhile,maintainedfiercelythatRonhadnoproofthatCrookshankshadeatenScabbers,thatthegingerhairsmighthavebeentheresinceChristmas,andthatRonhadbeenprejudicedagainsthercateversinceCrookshankshadlandedonRon’sheadintheMagicalMenagerie.

           Personally,HarrywassurethatCrookshankshadeatenScabbers,andwhenhetriedtopointouttoHermionethattheevidenceallpointedthatway,shelosthertemperwithHarrytoo.
