Icastmyeyestothestrandedvessel,whenthebreachandfrothoftheseabeingsobig,Icouldhardlyseeit,itlaysofaroff,andconsidered, Lord!howwasitpossibleIcouldgetonshore?
AfterIhadsolacedmymindwiththecomfortablepartofmycondition,IbegantolookroundmetoseewhatkindofplaceIwasin,andwhatwasnexttobedone, andIsoonfoundmycomfortsabate,andthat,inaword,Ihadadreadfuldeliverance; forIwaswet,hadnoclothestoshiftme,noranythingeithertoeatordrinktocomfortme,neitherdidIseeanyprospectbeforemebutthatofperishingwithhunger,ofbeingdevouredbywildbeasts; andthatwhichwasparticularlyafflictingtomewasthatIhadnoweaponeithertohuntandkillanycreatureformysustenance,ortodefendmyselfagainstanyothercreaturethatmightdesiretokillmefortheirs.
