Thewholeencampment,inamoment,becameasceneofthemostviolentbustleandcommotion.Thewarriorsdrewtheirknives,andflourishingthem,theyarrangedthemselvesintwolines,formingalanethatextendedfromthewar-partytothelodges.Thesquawsseizedclubs,axes,orwhateverweaponofoffencefirstoffereditselftotheirhands,andrushedeagerlytoacttheirpartinthecruelgamethatwasathand.Eventhechildrenwouldnotbeexcluded;butboys,littleabletowieldtheinstruments,torethetomahawksfromthebeltsoftheirfathers,andstoleintotheranks,aptimitatorsofthesavagetraitsexhibitedbytheirparents.
