           Nancylaughed.

           "Beggin’yerpardon,ma’am,youtoldhernotterspeakofherfather; soshecouldn’ttellye. ‘Twasherfather’sgame,yesee." 

           MissPollybitherlip. 

           "Shewantedtertellye,firstoff,"continuedNancy,alittleunsteadily. "Shewantedsomebodyterplayitwith,yeknow. That’swhyIbegunit,soshecouldhavesomeone."
