TherelationsbetweenNapoleonandPilkington,thoughtheywereonlyconductedthroughWhymper,werenowalmostfriendly. TheanimalsdistrustedPilkington,asahumanbeing,butgreatlypreferredhimtoFrederick,whomtheybothfearedandhated.
