           ThepicturesqueandwonderfulsideofthestorywewerestudyingasgospeltruthhadlittlecharmandbutslightinterestforCaptainLenGuy;hewasindifferenttoeverythinginPym’snarrativethatdidnotrelatedirectlytothecastawaysofTsalalIsland:hismindwassolelyandconstantlysetupontheirrescue.

           AccordingtothenarrativeofArthurPymJaneexperiencedseriousdifficulties,duetobadweather,fromthe1sttothe4thofJanuary,1828.Itwasnotuntilthemorningofthe5th,inlatitude23°15’thatshefoundafreepassagethroughthelasticebergthatbarredherway.
