SothewitchknewnothingofallthisuntilonceRapunzelsaidtoherunwittingly, "MotherGothel,howisitthatyouclimbupheresoslowly,andtheKing’ssoniswithmeinamoment?"
"Owickedchild,"criedthewitch,"whatisthisIhear! IthoughtIhadhiddentheefromalltheworld,andthouhastbetrayedme!" InherangersheseizedRapunzelbyherbeautifulhair,struckherseveraltimeswithherlefthand, andthengraspingapairofshearsinherright-snip,snap-thebeautifullockslayontheground.
