AndPigletwishedverymuchthathisGrandfatherT.W.werethere,insteadofelsewhere,andPoohthoughthowniceitwouldbeiftheymetChristopherRobinsuddenlybutquiteaccidentally,andonlybecausehelikedChristopherRobinsomuch.Andthen,allofasudden,Winnie-the-Poohstoppedagain,andlickedthetipofhisnoseinacoolingmanner,forhewasfeelingmorehotandanxiousthaneverinhislifebefore.Therewerefouranimalsinfrontofthem!
"Doyousee,Piglet?Lookattheirtracks!Three,asitwere,Woozles,andone,asitwas,Wizzle.AnotherWoozlehasjoinedthem!"
Andsoitseemedtobe.Therewerethetracks;crossingovereachotherhere,gettingmuddledupwitheachotherthere;but,quiteplainlyeverynowandthen,thetracksoffoursetsofpaws.
"Ithink,"saidPiglet,whenhehadlickedthetipofhisnosetoo,andfoundthatitbroughtverylittlecomfort,"IthinkthatIhavejustrememberedsomething.IhavejustrememberedsomethingthatIforgottodoyesterdayandsha’n’tbeabletodoto-morrow.SoIsupposeIreallyoughttogobackanddoitnow."
"We’lldoitthisafternoon,andI’llcomewithyou,"saidPooh.
"Itisn’tthesortofthingyoucandointheafternoon,"saidPigletquickly."It’saveryparticularmorningthing,thathastobedoneinthemorning,and,ifpossible,betweenthehoursofWhatwouldyousaythetimewas?"
"Abouttwelve,"saidWinnie-the-Pooh,lookingatthesun.
