           Whiletheybothhungthusinhesitationadullsoundbecameaudibleabovethestormandwind.Itsoriginwasunmistakable—itwasthefallofabodyintothestreamintheadjoiningmead,apparentlyatapointneartheweir.

           Bothstarted.“GoodGod!canitbeshe?”saidClym.
