Suchhandsaretakenfromthecottonfieldandemployedinotherbusiness. Patsey,ofwhomIshallhavemoretosay,wasknownasthemostremarkablecottonpickeronBayouBœuf. Shepickedwithbothhandsandwithsuchsurprisingrapidity,thatfivehundredpoundsadaywasnotunusualforher.
Eachoneistasked,therefore,accordingtohispickingabilities,none,however,tocomeshortoftwohundredweight.
