Thouwhogavestmelife,andimplantedinmybosomtheloveoflife—whofilleditwithemotionssuchasothermen,thycreatures,have,donotforsakeme. Havepityonthepoorslave—letmenotperish. Ifthoudostnotprotectme,Iamlost—lost! Suchsupplications,silentlyandunuttered,ascendedfrommyinmosthearttoHeaven. Buttherewasnoansweringvoice—nosweet,lowtone,comingdownfromonhigh,whisperingtomysoul, "ItisI,benotafraid." IwastheforsakenofGod,itseemed—thedespisedandhatedofmen!
