Chapter 6 — The Landing on the Moon

           ThenCavorswitchedontheelectriclight,andtoldmeheproposedtobindallourluggagetogetherwiththeblanketsaboutit,againsttheconcussionofourdescent.Wedidthiswithourwindowsclosed,becauseinthatwayourgoodsarrangedthemselvesnaturallyatthecentreofthesphere.Thattoowasastrangebusiness;wetwomenfloatinglooseinthatsphericalspace,andpackingandpullingropes.Imagineitifyoucan!Noupnordown,andeveryeffortresultinginunexpectedmovements.NowIwouldbepressedagainsttheglasswiththefullforceofCavor’sthrust,nowIwouldbekickinghelplesslyinavoid.Nowthestaroftheelectriclightwouldbeoverhead,nowunderfoot.NowCavor’sfeetwouldfloatupbeforemyeyes,andnowwewouldbecrosswaystoeachother.
