           ItookthreestepsfromtheverandahtowardsCavor’shouse,andevenasIdidsocamethewind.

           Instantlymycoattailswereovermyhead,andIwasprogressingingreatleapsandbounds,andquiteagainstmywill,towardshim.Inthesamemomentthediscovererwasseized,whirledabout,andflewthroughthescreamingair.Isawoneofmychimneypotshitthegroundwithinsixyardsofme,leapascoreoffeet,andsohurryingreatstridestowardsthefocusofthedisturbance.Cavor,kickingandflapping,camedownagain,rolledoverandoveronthegroundforaspace,struggledupandwasliftedandborneforwardatanenormousvelocity,vanishingatlastamongthelabouring,lashingtreesthatwrithedabouthishouse.
