"Whathaveyouthoughtup?"askedEric.
"Youpromisedyouwouldn’tshowyourselfinthesittingroomallevening,isthatright?Well,ifyougointhereunderneathablanketyou’renotshowingyourself."
"No…but…"beganEric.
"Ifyougounderneathablanketyou’renotshowingyourselfandno‘buts,’"saidKarlssonfirmly."IfIgounderablanketIdon’tshowmyselfeither,andthat’sBetty’sbadluck.Assheissosilly,shewon’tseeme—poor,poorlittleBetty!"
HejerkedtheblanketoffEric’sbedandthrewitoverhishead.
"Enter,enter!"heshouted."Comeintomytent!"
EriccrawledundertheblanketwithKarlsson,whostoodgigglinghappily.
"Bettysaidnothingaboutnotwantingtoseeatentinthesittingroom,didshe?Everybody’spleasedtoseeatent,aren’tthey?Especiallyatentthat’slitupinside,"saidKarlsson,switchingontheflashlight.
EricwasnotverysurethatBettywouldbepleasedwiththetent,buthehimselfthoughtitwasexcitingandalittlecreepytobeunderneaththeblanketwithKarlssonandtoshinethelight.Ericthoughttheymightaswellstaywheretheywere,playingtents,andnotbotheraboutBettybutKarlssonwouldn’thaveit.
