Quicklyandnimblysheclimbedupthetrunk, andthepeoplestoppedcryinginastonishment. Whenshereachedthetopofthetreesheplacedtheboardoverastoutbranchandthencarefullypusheditovertothewindowsill. Andtherelaytheboardlikeabridgebetweenthetopofthetreeandthewindow.
Thepeopledowninthesquarestoodabsolutelysilent.Theyweresotensetheycouldn’tsayaword. Pippisteppedoutontheboard. Shesmiledpleasantlyatthetwoboysinthegabledwindow.
