           Apairofblank,white,shiningeyesweregrowinglargerthroughthegloomandamomentlaterthedragonishface,neckandthenskeletalbodyofagreat,black,wingedhorseemergedfromthedarkness.Itsurveyedtheclassforafewseconds,swishingitslongblacktail,thenboweditsheadandbegantotearfleshfromthedeadcowwithitspointedfangs.

           AgreatwaveofreliefbrokeoverHarry.Hereatlastwasproofthathehadnotimaginedthesecreatures,thattheywerereal:Hagridknewaboutthemtoo.HelookedeagerlyatRon,butRonwasstillstaringaroundintothetreesandafterafewsecondshewhispered,’Whydoesn’tHagridcallagain?’

           MostoftherestoftheclasswerewearingexpressionsasconfusedandnervouslyexpectantasRon’sandwerestillgazingeverywherebutatthehorsestandingfeetfromthem.
