           Mostpeopleseemedtofeelthatthiswassomethingtoworryabout.NevillegaveProfessorLupinalookofpureterror,andSeamusFinniganeyedthenowrattlingdoorknobapprehensively.

           "Boggartslikedark,enclosedspaces,"saidProfessorLupin."Wardrobes,thegapbeneathbeds,thecupboardsundersinksI’veevenmetonethathadlodgeditselfinagrandfatherclock.Thisonemovedinyesterdayafternoon,andIaskedtheheadmasterifthestaffwouldleaveittogivemythirdyearssomepractice."

           "So,thefirstquestionwemustaskourselvesis,whatisaBoggart?"

           Hermioneputupherhand.

           "It’sashape-shifter,"shesaid."Itcantaketheshapeofwhateveritthinkswillfrightenusmost."

           "Couldn’thaveputitbettermyself,"saidProfessorLupin,andHermioneglowed."SotheBoggartsittinginthedarknesswithinhasnotyetassumedaform.
