"Yes,sir!"answeredSisterDorisdemurely;andwewentbacktoMr.Trelawny’sroom.Assoonaswehadentered,Mrs.GrantandtheNursewentoutsothatonlyDoctorWinchester,MissTrelawny,andmyselfremainedintheroom.WhenthedoorhadbeenclosedDoctorWinchesteraskedmeastowhathadoccurred.Itoldhimfully,givingexactlyeverydetailsofarasIcouldremember.Throughoutmynarrative,whichdidnottakelong,however,hekeptaskingmequestionsastowhohadbeenpresentandtheorderinwhicheachonehadcomeintotheroom.Heaskedotherthings,butnothingofanyimportance;thesewereallthattookmyattention,orremainedinmymemory.Whenourconversationwasfinished,hesaidinaverydecidedwayindeed,toMissTrelawny:
"Ithink,MissTrelawny,thatwehadbetterhaveaconsultationonthiscase."Sheansweredatonce,seeminglyalittletohissurprise:
"Iamgladyouhavementionedit.Iquiteagree.Whowouldyousuggest?"
"Haveyouanychoiceyourself?"heasked."AnyonetowhomyourFatherisknown?Hasheeverconsultedanyone?"
