OntheSouthernspur,initslowerslopesandintherocksatitsfeet,theElveswereset;ontheEasternspurweremenanddwarves.ButBardandsomeofthenimblestofmenandelvesclimbedtotheheightoftheEasternshouldertogainaviewtotheNorth.SoontheycouldseethelandsbeforetheMountain’sfeetblackwithahurryingmultitude.Erelongthevanguardswirledroundthespur’sendandcamerushingintoDale.
