           Thesimplicityofthecircle,Langdonthought,admiringthebuildingforthefirsttime.Thearchitecturewascoarseandsimple,morereminiscentofRome’sruggedCastelSant’AngelothantherefinedPantheon.Theboxyannexjuttingouttotherightwasanunfortunateeyesore,althoughitdidlittletoshroudtheoriginalpaganshapeoftheprimarystructure.
