Thepropagandaandbloodshedhadworked.Today’sworldwaslivingproof.Women,oncecelebratedasanessentialhalfofspiritualenlightenment,hadbeenbanishedfromthetemplesoftheworld.TherewerenofemaleOrthodoxrabbis,Catholicpriests,norIslamicclerics.TheoncehallowedactofHierosGamos–thenaturalsexualunionbetweenmanandwomanthroughwhicheachbecamespirituallywhole–hadbeenrecastasashamefulact.
