           “CHOAMcontrolsthespice,”Paulsaid.

           “DidtheReverendMotherwarnyou?”Paulblurted.Heclenchedhisfists,feelinghispalmsslipperywithperspiration.Theeffortithadtakentoaskthatquestion.

           “HawattellsmeshefrightenedyouwithwarningsaboutArrakis,”theDukesaid.“Don’tletawoman’sfearscloudyourmind.Nowomanwantsherlovedonesendangered.Thehandbehindthosewarningswasyourmother’s.Takethisasasignofherloveforus.
