           Hewasmucholderthanshe.Hisconversation,whichwasserious,tookplaceatintervalsinhisgreatbrownbeard.Afterthefirstyearofmarriedlife,Mrs.Kearneyperceivedthatsuchamanwouldwearbetterthanaromanticperson,butsheneverputherownromanticideasaway.
