"Howmuchmoneydoeshisfathermake?" Onlythendotheythinktheyknowhim. Ifyoutellgrown-ups, "Isawabeautifulredbrickhouse,withgeraniumsatthewindowsanddovesontheroof..." theywon’tbeabletoimaginesuchahouse. Youhavetotellthem,"Isawahouseworthahundredthousandfrancs." Thentheyexclaim,"Whataprettyhouse!" 

Soifyoutellthem: "Theproofofthelittleprince’sexistenceisthathewasdelightful, thathelaughed,andthathewantedasheep. Whensomeonewantsasheep,thatprovesheexists," theyshrugtheirshouldersandtreatyoulikeachild!

"Onceuponatimetherewasalittleprince wholivedonaplanethardlyanybiggerthanhewas,andwhoneededafriend..." Forthosewhounderstandlife,thatwouldsoundmuchtruer. 

Thefactis,Idon’twantmybooktobetakenlightly. Tellingthesememoriesissopainfulforme. It’salreadybeensixyearssincemyfriendwentaway,takinghissheepwithhim. Itrytodescribehimhere,soIwon’tforgethim. It’ssadtoforgetafriend.
