Theyscatteredfarandwideoverthecountry,anditwasnottillaweeklaterthatthelastofthesurvivorsgatheredtogetherinalowervalleyandcountedtheirlosses. AsforBuck,wearyingofthepursuit,hereturnedtothedesolatedcamp. HefoundPetewherehehadbeenkilledinhisblanketsinthefirstmomentofsurprise.
