Parkerslippedastheotherthreewereplungingfrenziedlyoverendlessvistasofgreen-crustedrocktotheboat,andJohansenswearshewasswallowedupbyanangleofmasonrywhichshouldn’thavebeenthere;ananglewhichwasacute,butbehavedasifitwereobtuse. SoonlyBridenandJohansenreachedtheboat,andpulleddesperatelyfortheAlertasthemountainousmonstrosityfloppeddowntheslimystonesandhesitatedflounderingattheedgeofthewater.
