           Thiswassatisfactory,andsotheseadventureswerecarriedout. ThenTombecameRobinHoodagain,andwasallowedbythetreacherousnuntobleedhisstrengthawaythroughhisneglectedwound. AndatlastJoe,representingawholetribeofweepingoutlaws,draggedhimsadlyforth,gavehisbowintohisfeeblehands,andTomsaid, "Wherethisarrowfalls,thereburypoorRobinHoodunderthegreenwoodtree. "Thenheshotthearrowandfellbackandwouldhavedied,buthelitonanettleandspranguptoogailyforacorpse. 

           Theboysdressedthemselves,hidtheiraccoutrements,andwentoffgrievingthattherewerenooutlawsanymore,andwonderingwhatmoderncivilizationcouldclaimtohavedonetocompensatefortheirloss. TheysaidtheywouldratherbeoutlawsayearinSherwoodForestthanPresidentoftheUnitedStatesforever.
