           RitadecidedtofindawaytoshortenthePTandputanendtothisseeminglypointlessexercise.Sowhatifitinstilledasamuraifightingspirit?They’dstillwetthemselvesthefirsttimetheyranintoaMimicassault.Shewantedtostopit,evenifitwasasentimentalgesturethatnoonebutherselfwouldeverappreciate.

           Surveyingthetrainingfield,Ritachanceduponapairofdefianteyesstaringdirectlyather.Shewasaccustomedtobeinglookedonwithawe,admiration,evenfear,butshe’dneverseenthis:alookfilledwithsuchunbridledhatredfromacompletestranger.Ifapersoncouldshootlasersfromtheireyes,RitawouldhavebeenbakedcrisperthanaThanksgivingturkeyinaboutthreeseconds.
