Londongrewintosomethinghugeandcontradictory.Itwasagoodplace,andafinecity,butthereisapricetobepaidforallgoodplaces,andapricethatallgoodplaceshavetopay.
Afterawhile,RichardfoundhimselftakingLondonforgranted;intime,hebegantopridehimselfonhavingvisitednoneofthesightsofLondon(exceptfortheTowerofLondon,whenhisAuntMaudecamedowntothecityforaweekend,andRichardfoundhimselfherreluctantescort).
ButJessicachangedallthat.Richardfoundhimself,onotherwisesensibleweekends,accompanyinghertoplacesliketheNationalGalleryandtheTateGallery,wherehelearnedthatwalkingaroundmuseumstoolonghurtsyourfeet,thatthegreatarttreasuresoftheworldallblurintoeachotherafterawhile,andthatitisalmostbeyondthehumancapacityforbelieftoaccepthowmuchmuseumcafeteriaswillbrazenlychargeforasliceofcakeandacupoftea.
