           Andthen,onenighttheycametoafishingvillage,wherebrownnetsweredryinginthewindalongthecliffsandinfrontofthehuts.Itwastherethattheywouldstay;theywouldliveinalow,flat-roofedhouse,shadedbyapalm-tree,intheheartofagulf,bythesea.Theywouldrowingondolas,swinginhammocks,andtheirexistencewouldbeeasyandlargeastheirsilkgowns,warmandstar-spangledasthenightstheywouldcontemplate.However,intheimmensityofthisfuturethatsheconjuredup,nothingspecialstoodforth;thedays,allmagnificent,resembledeachotherlikewaves;anditswayedinthehorizon,infinite,harmonised,azure,andbathedinsunshine.ButthechildbegantocoughinhercotorBovarysnoredmoreloudly,andEmmadidnotfallasleeptillmorning,whenthedawnwhitenedthewindows,andwhenlittleJustinwasalreadyinthesquaretakingdowntheshuttersofthechemist’sshop.
