           "Butpeoplethemselvesaltersomuch,thatthereissomethingnewtobeobservedinthemforever." 

           "Yes,indeed,"criedMrs.Bennet,offendedbyhismannerofmentioningacountryneighbourhood."Iassureyouthereisquiteasmuchofthatgoingoninthecountryasintown." 

           Everybodywassurprised,andDarcy,afterlookingatherforamoment,turnedsilentlyaway. Mrs.Bennet,whofanciedshehadgainedacompletevictoryoverhim,continuedhertriumph. 

           "IcannotseethatLondonhasanygreatadvantageoverthecountry,formypart,excepttheshopsandpublicplaces. Thecountryisavastdealpleasanter,isitnot,Mr.Bingley?" 

           "WhenIaminthecountry,"hereplied,"Ineverwishtoleaveit;andwhenIamintownitisprettymuchthesame. Theyhaveeachtheiradvantages,andIcanbeequallyhappyineither." 

           "Ayethatisbecauseyouhavetherightdisposition. Butthatgentleman,"lookingatDarcy,"seemedtothinkthecountrywasnothingatall."
