           "La!"repliedKitty,"itlooksjustlikethatmanthatusedtobewithhimbefore. Mr.what’s-his-name.Thattall,proudman." 

           "Goodgracious!Mr.Darcy!—andsoitdoes,Ivow. Well,anyfriendofMr.Bingley’swillalwaysbewelcomehere,tobesure; butelseImustsaythatIhatetheverysightofhim." 

           JanelookedatElizabethwithsurpriseandconcern. SheknewbutlittleoftheirmeetinginDerbyshire,andthereforefeltfortheawkwardnesswhichmustattendhersister,inseeinghimalmostforthefirsttimeafterreceivinghisexplanatoryletter. Bothsisterswereuncomfortableenough. Eachfeltfortheother,andofcourseforthemselves; andtheirmothertalkedon,ofherdislikeofMr.Darcy,andherresolutiontobeciviltohimonlyasMr.Bingley’sfriend,withoutbeingheardbyeitherofthem.
