           Elizabeth’scollectedbehaviour,however,soonquietedhisemotion; andasMissBingley,vexedanddisappointed,darednotapproachnearertoWickham,Georgianaalsorecoveredintime,thoughnotenoughtobeabletospeakanymore. Herbrother,whoseeyeshefearedtomeet,scarcelyrecollectedherinterestintheaffair,andtheverycircumstancewhichhadbeendesignedtoturnhisthoughtsfromElizabethseemedtohavefixedthemonhermoreandmorecheerfully. 

           Theirvisitdidnotcontinuelongafterthequestionandanswerabovementioned; andwhileMr.DarcywasattendingthemtotheircarriageMissBingleywasventingherfeelingsincriticismsonElizabeth’sperson,behaviour,anddress. ButGeorgianawouldnotjoinher. Herbrother’srecommendationwasenoughtoensureherfavour;hisjudgementcouldnoterr. AndhehadspokeninsuchtermsofElizabethastoleaveGeorgianawithoutthepoweroffindingherotherwisethanlovelyandamiable. WhenDarcyreturnedtothesaloon,MissBingleycouldnothelprepeatingtohimsomepartofwhatshehadbeensayingtohissister.
