           Asshespokesheobservedhimlookingatherearnestly; andthemannerinwhichheimmediatelyaskedherwhyshesupposedMissDarcylikelytogivethemanyuneasiness,convincedherthatshehadsomehoworothergotprettynearthetruth. Shedirectlyreplied:
