Sotheyrodeonwardstotheseaasfastastheirhorsesmightgallop,andatnighttheycametoacastleinavalley,inclosedbyrunningwater,andbystrongandhighwalls,whereintotheyenteredandhadgreatcheer,fortheladyofthecastlewasthedamsel’smistress.
Andwhenhewasunarmed,thedamselsaidtoherlady,“Madam,shallweabideherethisnight?”
“Nay,”saidshe,“butonlytillhehathdinedandsleptalittle.”
Soheateandsleptawhile,tillthemaidcalledhim,andarmedhimbytorchlight;andwhenhehadsalutedtheladyofthecastle,thedamselandSirGalahadrodeon.
Anontheycametotheseaside,andlo!theship,whereinwereSirPercivalandSirBors,abodebytheshore.Thentheycried,“Welcome,SirGalahad,forwehaveawaitedtheelong.”
Thentheyrejoicedtoseeeachother,andtoldofalltheiradventuresandtemptations.Andthedamselwentintotheshipwiththem,andspaketoSirPercival:“SirPercival,knowyenotwhoIam?”
Andhereplied,“Nay,certainly,Iknowtheenot.”
Thensaidshe,“Iamthysister,thedaughterofKingPellinore,andamsenttohelptheeandtheseknights,thyfellows,toachievethequestwhichyeallfollow.”
SoSirPercivalrejoicedtoseehissister,andtheydepartedfromtheshore.Andafterawhiletheycameuponawhirlpool,wheretheirshipcouldnotlive.Thensawtheyanothergreatershiphardbyandwenttowardsit,butsawneithermannorwomantherein.
