“Iamready,”answeredhe,andencounteredhim,andsmotehimsoheavilythathefelldownfromhishorse.Whereat,beingashamed,heputhisshieldbeforehim,anddrewhissword,cryingtothestrangeknighttodolikewise.Thentheyfoughtonfootforwellnightwohours,tilltheywerebothweary.

Thenbothcriedouttogether,“Wellmet;”andSirLamorackesaid,“Sir,foryourgreatrenown,Iwillthatyehavealltheworshipofthisbattle,andthereforewillIyieldmeuntoyou.”Andtherewithhetookhisswordbythepointtoyieldhim.
