"Ozmaseesmeeverydayatfouro’clock,inherMagicPicture.ShecanseemewhereverIam,nomatterwhatIamdoing.Andatthattime,ifImakeacertainsecretsign,shewillsendformebymeansoftheMagicBelt,whichIoncecapturedfromtheNomeKing.Then,inthewinkofaneye,IshallbewithOzmainherpalace."
TheelderpeopleremainedsilentforsometimeafterDorothyhadspoken.Finally,AuntEmsaid,withanothersighofregret:
"Ifthatisthecase,Dorothy,perhapsyou’dbettergoandliveintheEmeraldCity.Itwillbreakourheartstoloseyoufromourlives,butyouwillbesomuchbetteroffwithyourfairyfriendsthatitseemswisestandbestforyoutogo."
