Whentheyreachedtheoldrightofway,Edwinstoppedsuddenlyandlookedback. Hare-LipandHoo-Hooandthedogsandthegoatspassedon. Edwinwaslookingatasmallherdofwildhorseswhichhadcomedownonthehardsand. Therewereatleasttwentyofthem,youngcoltsandyearlingsandmares,ledbyabeautifulstallionwhichstoodinthefoamattheedgeofthesurf,witharchedneckandbrightwildeyes,sniffingthesaltairfromoffthesea.
